We’re looking for a talented and driven Shader & VFX Intern to help shape the look and feel of our flagship title, Two Robots: Unleashed. This is your chance to craft eye-popping effects, dynamic particles, and cutting-edge shaders that immerse players in a fast-paced world of sci-fi strategy and futuristic warfare.

 

If you love experimenting with visuals that make games feel alive - and you’re eager to grow into a full-time role - we want to hear from you.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Create, optimize, and implement shaders in Godot 4.5 for characters, abilities, environments, and UI.

  • Design and refine visual effects and particle systems for attacks, abilities, and arena events.

  • Explore ways to add clarity and flair to a competitive multiplayer card game through VFX.

  • Work closely with designers and artists to enhance readability and spectacle without sacrificing performance.

  • Push the limits of Godot’s rendering pipeline to deliver distinctive sci-fi visuals that reinforce faction identity (e.g. holy light glows for Civardus, gritty sparks for mechanized factions).

 

Who You Are

  • A creator with a strong grasp of shader languages, VFX pipelines, and particle design.

  • Comfortable working with Godot 4.5 and eager to explore its newest tools.

  • Passionate about sci-fi aesthetics, stylized realism, and gameplay-driven visual feedback.

  • Bonus if you’ve worked on multiplayer or competitive games, or enjoy strategy card games.

 

Interview Process – Round 2: Shader/VFX Test

If you’re selected for Round 2, you’ll be invited to complete a short shader/VFX test. The focus will be on one of our Biobots — collectible robotic creatures that range from small insect-like drones to towering titans like the Hydra, a massive three-headed robotic dragon.

Biobots are where the organic meets the mechanical, buzzing, crawling, striking, or regenerating in unique ways. The test will give you the chance to showcase how you can bring one of these creatures to life using Godot 4.5’s shaders and particle systems.

You’ll have up to one week to complete the test, and we’re happy to accommodate extensions if needed.
