Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support day-to-day operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including conveyors, grinders, slicers, packaging machines, and refrigeration units
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Inspect, diagnose, and replace defective machine parts
Maintain and service refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure proper temperature control
Adhere to OSHA, USDA, and FDA safety and regulatory guidelines
Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including repairs, work orders, and parts inventory
Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues
Train production employees on proper equipment use and minor troubleshooting
Follow all company GMPs, policies, and procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
3–5 years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing or meat processing
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Experience with electrical systems, PLCs, and automated machinery is a plus
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Strong problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure
Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in cold/humid environments
Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
