Position Description

As a Software Developer in Test you will be a core member of the software development team.  You will be working directly with software developers and stakeholders at all stages of the SDLC to proactively build quality into the product and at times contribute directly to product development.    You will have autonomy and impact and will end your workday feeling amazing in that your efforts are directly contributing Pani’s environmental mission to enable a globally sustainable water supply and meaningfully lower carbon emissions worldwide.

You have a passion for software development and enjoy working on tough problems with an equally talented group of co-workers who will both challenge and support you. Fundamentally you want to use your talents and energy to better the world for others and contribute to global greenhouse gas reduction through the responsible management of global water and energy.

What you bring to the team

• Experience setting up, contributing to, and maintaining a functional end to end test suite for a SaaS product. 
• Playwright experience is preferred. 
• 1+ year(s) of professional front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) using React/Typescript. 
• Experience and strong fundamentals with Python.  
• Experience working with Git version control and build and deploy pipelines.
• Desire and ability to deeply understand the product and our customers 
• Strong verbal communicator comfortable working directly with stakeholders 
• High general intelligence and problem-solving abilities 
• Located on Vancouver Island or the lower mainland.  
• While this is a mainly remote position, the successful candidate must be able to attend in-person team events roughly every couple of months in Victoria, BC. 

Responsibilities 

• Building and maintaining an automated end-to-end test suite using Playright and supporting technologies. 
• Automating the running of end-to-end test suites and other testing technologies into build and deploy infrastructure. 
• Software Development front and back end tasks using Python, HTML, CSS, JS, React, Typescript 

Nice to Have 

• Experience in the water industry, ideally in water/wastewater treatment
• Experience working for a SaaS startup

Compensation

Pani offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a comprehensive health & dental benefits and paid time off. The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $75,000 to $90,000. The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience and expertise.
