As a Materials Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of materials and ensuring the availability of resources for production. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the procurement and inventory management processes
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements and develop production plans
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions
- Implement and maintain efficient systems for tracking and reporting on material usage, costs, and variances
- Lead a team of materials specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure departmental goals are met
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in materials management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles and best practices
