Guaranteed minimum of $22.00/hour - potential to earn up to $50.00/hour with pooled tips 

Golf Operations Captains participate in the team tip pool. Total hourly compensation will be at least $22.00/hour, with pooled tips providing the opportunity to earn significantly more during busy shifts and events.

Our Arlington Heights location features 12 state-of-the-art Golf VX simulator bays alongside food and beverage service, leagues, events, lessons, and more. 

We're looking for a Golf Operations Captain who enjoys working with people, can take ownership of a shift, and wants to help create a great experience for every guest who walks through the door. You don't need to be a great golfer. You do need to be dependable, comfortable leading others, and willing to jump in wherever the team needs you. 

What You'll Do 

As a Golf Operations Captain, you'll be one of the leaders on the floor and help keep the venue running smoothly during your assigned shifts. You'll work closely with the Venue Manager while staying hands-on with guests and the rest of the team. 

• Lead the shift - Help organize the team, communicate priorities, solve problems, and keep operations moving throughout the day 

• Create a great guest experience - Welcome guests, answer questions, check on bays, resolve issues, and make sure guests are taken care of from arrival through departure 

• Help guests with Golf VX technology - Get players started in their simulator bays, explain basic features, and troubleshoot common issues 

• Support food and beverage operations - Help coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house service and jump in where needed during busy periods 

• Support leagues and events - Help execute corporate events, parties, tournaments, leagues, lessons, and other venue programming 

• Coach and support the team - Help onboard and train employees, provide direction during shifts, and reinforce Golf VX service standards 

• Maintain venue readiness - Complete opening and closing responsibilities, restock supplies, monitor inventory, and keep the venue clean, organized, and guest-ready 

• Handle transactions responsibly - Process cash and credit transactions accurately and follow all cash-handling procedures 

• Maintain safety and compliance - Follow food safety procedures, alcohol service requirements, company policies, and guest safety standards 

• Support the Venue Manager - Communicate shift updates, guest feedback, inventory needs, maintenance issues, and opportunities to improve the operation 

Most importantly, Captains are expected to lead by example. This is a hands-on role. If the front desk needs help, you'll help. If a guest needs assistance in a bay, you'll be there. If the team gets busy, you'll jump in alongside them. 

What We're Looking For 

We're looking for someone who is reliable, positive, comfortable taking the lead, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. 

• 1+ year of leadership, shift lead, hospitality, restaurant, retail, entertainment, or similar experience preferred 

• Strong communication and people skills 

• Comfortable giving direction and making decisions during a shift 

• Guest-first mindset and ability to handle issues professionally 

• Experience with cash handling, inventory, or food and beverage operations 

• Ability to stay organized and composed during busy periods 

• Interest in golf, sports, hospitality, or entertainment is a plus 

• Basic comfort with technology and learning new systems 

• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays 

• Must be 21+ and able to serve alcohol in accordance with Illinois requirements 

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet throughout a shift 

Golf experience is not required. We'll teach you the Golf VX technology and everything you need to know to help our guests.

Schedule 

Golf Operations Captains typically work approximately 8-hour shifts with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
