Job Description

Sandblast & Paint is currently seeking a full time, labor looking for a career in a well-established growing company. This position requires a versatile candidate willing to learn new processes, comply with all safety regulations, and work on projects of all sizes. 

Job Functions:

  • Prep surfaces of metal and non-metal composition to remove mil-scale, sand, paint, powder coating, grease, rust, and dirt to a specified finish using abrasive-blasting equipment and varied media types.
  • Fill or remove pits, dents, and dimples.
  • File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
  • Prime and paint repaired surfaces, using paint spray guns, motorized sanders, and hand tools.
  • Perform abrasive sandblasting in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain, and/or assist with, accurate documentation for projects.
  • Perform maintenance on shop tools and equipment.
  • Complete Pre-Use Equipment checks.
  • Perform loading and offloading activities for supplies, materials, and finished projects.
  • Safely operate a forklift.  In-house training will be provided.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the shop and for field work.
  • Wear, maintain, and inspect respirators.
  • Follow all company safety requirements regarding the use of personal protective equipment and apparel.
  • Other day-to-day duties as directed by supervisor and/or manager.
  • Handling regulated waste for storage and transport.

Requirements:

  • A High School Degree or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license - Class A CDL (preferred)
  • A clean motor vehicle report that satisfies the criteria required by our insurance provider.
  • Must be willing and able to take and pass a pulmonary test to the degree that you can wear a respirator. 
  • Must be able to perform all job functions that require lifting and/or carrying single items weighing at least 100lbs as well as functions/activities such as pulling, pushing, bending, climbing, standing, lifting, twisting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and laying.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug test and background check (this position is subject to DOT drug pulls throughout the year)

Rate of Pay: $18-$20 (higher starting rate will be applied if candidate has a CDL)
Shop Hours: 7am to 4pm Monday through Friday
Typical "on the road" Work: 7am to 5pm (or later) Monday through Saturday
Travel or Overnights Required: Yes
