Job Summary:

Align is currently supporting a new digital agency in the content space in finding their new sales leader. The Head of Sales will be one of their early hires and will play a critical role in shaping the future of this business. This individual will be responsible for driving business development, building and maintaining client relationships, and establishing sales processes that will support growth. Their pipeline is strong and growth is happenning, and we're looking to ad more fuel to the fire with an awesome sales leader.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in an early stage digital services agency or media environment and a proven track record of success in net new revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our client base. Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and grow revenue.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
  • Process Building: Establish and implement effective sales processes and systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Team Leadership: We're looking for someone who has an interest in building teams and managing people. Ideally, you've done this before, but it's not required.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape. Use this information to inform sales strategies and identify new deals. You need to be curious about the media space and generally interested in new forms of content and creating engaged audiences.
  • Reporting: Track and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to the founding team. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in an agency or media environment, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. You need to be a hunter and have the record to show for it.
  • Business Development: Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new potential deals. Experience in building and managing a sales pipeline from start to finish. 
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and the internal team. 
  • Process Building: Experience in developing and implementing sales processes and systems. Ideally, you've been an early sales hire at a media agency or digital services business.
  • Leadership: Previous experience in a leadership role with the ability to mentor and develop team members. As the team grows, this role will become more of a player coach,
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is critical, especially when selling in a remote environment.
  • Education: None required. We care about who you are as a person, not where you went to school.
